A valid and carefully drafted power of attorney can let a trusted person (your attorney) look after your financial affairs when you cannot; a valid and carefully drafted will can let a trusted person (your executor) look after your estate when you are dead. A representation agreement can complement those two types of documents, by giving a trusted person (your representative) the power to make important decisions about your care, comfort and critical decisions when you are unable to do so.
