The Blind Men and the Elephant

And so these men of Indostan
Disputed loud and long,
Each in his own opinion
Exceeding stiff and strong,
Though each was partly in the right,
And all were in the wrong!

John Godfrey Saxe's poem based on the tale of the six blind men and the elephant ends with this stanza:

So oft in theologic wars,

The disputants, I ween,
Rail on in utter ignorance
Of what each other mean,
And prate about an Elephant
Not one of them has seen!

In many legal cases, no one can really predict the outcome of the case, or the case's consequences to the individuals involved. One lawyer's background and experience might have him or her believe you are up against a wall; another might see the case as something sharp and dangerous. Each may be right, and each may also be wrong. An alternative approach to a legal challenge can be very helpful, if you need some fresh thoughts to the situation, or an approach that simply looks at the issues from a different perspective.
